I’m sure many of you will have heard of Global Domains International or GDI and wondered if it is genuine or just another internet scam to fleece you of your money. Well I have been a member for some months now and find it to be a very honest and well run business. In my last post I talked about what backlinks are and why you need them, so further to that I’m going to share some methods I use to get backlinks. Firstly my number one method of getting quality backlinks is with a great bit of software called Comment Kahuna. Now with this, you can do a search for blogs linked to your niche keywords. This will generate a list of all blogs you can post to and the really cool part is that it gives you the page rank of the blogs too. One thing to bear in mind though is that you shouldn’t dismiss the idea of commenting on low PR blogs because you don’t know what the rank of that page will be in a year’s time.

Another method I use is forums. Most forums you join let you put a signature in to every post you make so why not use this to link back to your blog or site. It’s free advertising! A lot of forums also have good PR; you can check this with the google toolbar. You can also use social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace to grab a back link.

There are so many ways you can get backlinks, just think of all the sites you visit and you can use them to get a link back to your site. Don’t worry if you don’t see your site getting ranked for a while, it does take time just keep at it, it will happen. As you build your links you’ll notice traffic to your site increasing so make sure you’re providing quality content so people have a reason to return to your site.

Backlinks are basically hyperlinks that point to your site from another. These are very important to you because it can determine if a site will be successful or not. If your site has 5 quality backlinks and your competitor has 100, guess who gets higher up in the search engine results? That’s right, your competitor and they will get the traffic to their site.

Now just getting any old backlinks will not do, you need quality backlinks from sites that are well established and loved by the search engines. You need to get as many backlinks from sites with a good Page Rank (PR) as you possibly can. You can check what a sites page rank is by installing the google toolbar. (See below)

Getting quality backlinks can be a very time consuming task but if you want your blog/site to be successful, you need to put in the effort and you will benefit. Just a quick update on how ‘Driven Rapid Wealth‘ is doing for me and how rapid or not I’m earning money. Ok I recently purchased another $10 dollar adpack from earnings I made from the initial adpack. Below is how much the adpacks have earned thus far.

• Adpack 1 started 22/05/08 earnings $13.72
• Adpack 2 started 22/07/08 earnings $3.34

As you can see I’ve made a total of $17.06 between the two adpacks, it’s taken quite a while though so I would hardly say it’s rapid but it still is more than I get from my bank. Considering I was paid into this opportunity by my friend I’m not complaining. I’ll keep purchasing those adpacks till they make me a nice daily amount.

As an internet marketer you’re going to need to get yourself out there and one of the ways of doing this is to have your own blog or website. You’ll need a domain name and reliable web hosting to do this unless of course you opt for free hosting or a free blog. In my opinion, it looks better if you have your own domain name on your site but thats upto you to decide.

For one of my sites I use Global Domains International or GDI and the good thing about GDI is that it can also make you some money. They will pay you a commission for referring people to use their hosting. They will pay you $1 per month for everyone you refer directly and you will also get $1 per month if your referral signs someone up to GDI hosting and this goes 5 levels deep.

One dollar….thats not much! Time to take a look at the calculator! First you want to put in how many referrals you think you can get signed up for GDI, then on the second line how many signups your referrals will get, remember this is just an estimate. If you get 10 referrals you’ve covered your own monthly hosting fee just from that.

One more thing, if you’re new to building websites GDI has a really easy to use sitebuilder so you can have your own site up within minutes so it’s definately a great way to get started. GDI has been around for years so you can be sure it’s not a crappy business where you will get ripped off.
