If you don’t know what Yuwie is then read on because I think you might like the idea of it. Many people today have their own MySpace and Facebook pages and use them to keep in touch with friends and family, sharing holiday snaps and videos etc. These sites are very popular and will continue to be for a very long time in my opinion.

So how much do MySpace and Facebook reward its users for the content they provide? Nothing! There is however a very good alternative to these sites. Its name is Yuwie and it’s very similar in design to MySpace. The great thing about Yuwie is the revenue share, where they take a chunk of the money they make from advertisers and share it with Yuwie members so in reality you get paid to chat with friends and share pictures etc.

Yuwie has been around since July 2007 but is still relatively unheard of in the world of social networking sites. At the time of writing, Yuwie has 743,911 members so they’re nearing a quarter of a million members. As I mentioned above, Yuwie is very similar to MySpace, you get a customizable profile page, you can upload photos and videos and you also get a blog to keep friends and family updated.

In my last post I talked about what backlinks are and why you need them, so further to that I’m going to share some methods I use to get backlinks. Firstly my number one method of getting quality backlinks is with a great bit of software called Comment Kahuna. Now with this, you can do a search for blogs linked to your niche keywords. This will generate a list of all blogs you can post to and the really cool part is that it gives you the page rank of the blogs too. One thing to bear in mind though is that you shouldn’t dismiss the idea of commenting on low PR blogs because you don’t know what the rank of that page will be in a year’s time.

Another method I use is forums. Most forums you join let you put a signature in to every post you make so why not use this to link back to your blog or site. It’s free advertising! A lot of forums also have good PR; you can check this with the google toolbar. You can also use social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace to grab a back link.

There are so many ways you can get backlinks, just think of all the sites you visit and you can use them to get a link back to your site. Don’t worry if you don’t see your site getting ranked for a while, it does take time just keep at it, it will happen. As you build your links you’ll notice traffic to your site increasing so make sure you’re providing quality content so people have a reason to return to your site.

Social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are 2 of the biggest sites on the planet because millions of people use them. These sites focus on building online communities of people who share common interests. You can guarantee that some of the people that are members of these social sites are interested in what your site or blog has to offer.

If you are not using these sites to get targeted traffic to your your site or blog, then you are missing out. There are loads of these social sites on the internet and there are even sites that are just dedicated for business people. These truly are great for driving traffic to your blog.

When using these sites, it’s a good idea to present yourself in the correct way. If people check out your page and are bombarded with business opportunity after business opportunity, you are not going to have much luck. However, if your page is about you and people can find out more about you as a person then they will trust you more. Include photos of you and your family on holiday, tell people what you enjoy doing in your spare time and show them what a nice person you are and they will come to your site.

On the majority of these sites, there are groups or clubs that you can join. This is great because you can then network with people who have similar interests and invite these people to take a look at your blog. There are so many ways you can use social networking sites to get targeted traffic to your blog or site, it will take time but it’s worth it because these people are already interested in what you have to offer.
